Rabbi Eichenstein, a native of Chicago, and the Rebbetzin’s nephew, was raised in an atmosphere of serving the k’lal. After learning in prestigious Yeshivos in the US, Rabbi Eichenstein moved to Eretz Yisroel and continued his learning in Kollel Hora’ah of HaGaon Harav Moshe Halberstam zt”l (a.k.a Galicianer Kollel) and in the afternoons in Yeshivas Mir in Yerushalayim. He then developed his derech in Torah, halacha, and rabbanus under the guidance of his uncle, the Gaávad of Yerushalayim, Rav Tuviah Weiss Shlita, becoming one of his star talmidim.

Today, he serves as the revered Rav of Mercaz Torah U’Tefillah – a bustling center in the heart of the Baltimore community, where over 1,000 people daven daily, and where 13 daily Daf Yomi shiurim are hosted on premises, many of which are delivered by Toras Moshe alumni. His devotion to the k’lal has had a major impact on the lives of countless mispallelim.

It is not surprising that many Bnei Torah in Baltimore, including many TOMO graduates are drawn to this vibrant Torah center. Many chaburos meet their nightly, including a dynamic chaburah of Toras Moshe alumni.

Mercaz Torah U’Tefilah – a.k.a Rabbi Eichenstein’s shul – has gained a name as a place where everyone feels at home and is a unique Kehilla which fosters personal growth. With Rabbi Eichenstein at the helm, the kehilla is a true mercaz-a center for inspiration and a heightened level of ruchniyus making it worthy of its place among the esteemed kehillos of Baltimore.

Mercaz Torah U’Tefilah led by Rabbi Eichenstein reflects the mission of Toras Moshe – the primacy of Torah with care and respect for every individual.

It is a privilege to honor such an outstanding individual and the incredible enterprise that he has built for the Baltimore community.
